91 si hesitates/bogs/sputters at low rpm
so yeah. if im driving along, in 5th gear, cruising on a main road at like 55-60, and traffic slows down to like 45-50 and i leave it in 5th and kinda feather the throttle and give it a little gas to keep it goin, the engine will sputter/bog/hesitate for a second or two and then start to accelerate normally.
it does this in all gears 2-5, around 2000-2500rpm. if the rpms drop into that range and i try to give it some throttle, i get hesitation and sometimes some bucking, and then it will smooth out and accelerate normally.
in 'spirited driving' conditions all functions normally. the problem is only at lower RPMs.
my first thought is fuel delivery. i started simple and picked up some fuel system cleaner **** from my local auto store. didnt do ****. didnt really expect it to. worth a shot, i guess. so anyway, i havent really had much time to diagnose this problem, but i was wondering if anyone might have some insight. fuel filter? fuel pump? injectors? or maybe its not a fuel issue
any help would be appreciated, thanks!

i had the same problem and changed out a bunch of stuff like and idiot and it ended up being the o2 sensor. I would try that, your problem sounds exactly like mine.
That's what I was thinking. O2 sensor going bad could give faulty readings and result in a low-rpm rich mixture. My '87 Si does it a bit, too, but only because it's running an '87 Integra (DOHC) ECU and injectors on a stock D15A3. A little boggy at low revs, but comes alive quite nicely later, and the power stays higher longer, so I'll take the trade...

it seems like this problem is becoming common suddenly (including my b16 rex)
i have been told it is one of the following
timing off (skipped a tooth)
bad O2 sensor
distributor
TPS
clogged Cat
when you fix yours please let me know what you did.

And when I searched, thats what i found also.I had this problem on my car and then the orig motor took a dump. I just had replaced the timing belt but it was an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MOTOR in the car and it still was doing it. I swapped distributors, ecus, any and all sensors I could think of and then I realised that I installed the intake manifold(with the old o2 still installed) from the old motor onto the NEW motor. Whoops!. Swapped it out, bam, runs like a new car. They are not that expensive if you buy the one without the connector and just re-use your old connector.

well the things i can eliminate are the timing and dizzy cuz my dizzy took a **** a couple weeks ago and i got a new one, and the timing was checked at that time as well. im thinkin o2 sensor. lookin at about $140.
well i almost replace mine last year (long story) and i did buy them. i just bought the universal one wire sensor from autozone and was going to connect it by connecting the two wires with butt connectors. i think the $140 one your talking about are probably the ones from honda that plug directly in. for a $100+ i'll take my chances with the autozone one.
