tach trips out after installing turbokit....
well the car is a 98 LS integra. running a P06 ecu chipped for uberdata. the car is a buddy of mines, and we installed his turbokit and boost/airfuel gauges. now what happens is when we get on it, the tach starts flippin out going up n down on its own as we're trying to bang gears. this only happens when we drive it hard. normal driving it doesnt do it. Now we've done many uberdata setups on both turbo n NA cars and this has never happened before.
I'll be posting on the uberdata forums as well, but i wanted to see if anyone here has seen this problem before. also i tried rewiring the gauges to make sure those weren't the problem. but it still does it.
i'll be trying a different ecu tomorrow as well. this whole issue sounds like a bad ecu, but i'm hoping its something else. although i cant really think of anythin else that would cause this.
thanks

so the needle goes crazy but does it effect anything else. Does the car still drive normal when the needle flips out. Sounds like it could possibly your altenator slowly going bad.
doesnt seem to affect the cars performance, but i dont know for sure, car runs kinda like *** ne wayz, needs to be tuned, and a bunch of other ****.

hmmm that is pretty weird, does your factory tach do the samething. The only time I have seen this happen is when there is a lose in power from your altenator. I would get that tested at your local auto parts store just to get that out of the loop.

The tachometer is an electrical guage that gets a voltage from the distributor pickup to determine its position in rpms. I have seen a few distributors fail under the increased rate at which they have to operate with the greater acceleration provided by the gain in power. Swap distributors with someone who has the same as you known to be in good working order to try solving the problem.
