STRIPPED HEAD BOLTS.....HELP!!
BECAUSE I HAVE PUT 3 DIFFERENT HEADS ON MY 93 TEG I BELIEVE I HAVE STRIPPED THE THREADS OUT OF MY BLOCK. HOW CAN I FIX THIS? I HAVE BEEN TOLD I CAN USE PRELUDE HEADBOLTS AND RETHREAD THE BLOCK, IS THIS TRUE? WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
Turn off caps.
You might be able to use the lude headbolts, but cut them to length. Talk to a few shops and see what their solution it. Other than that, Id say that toy could re-tap with a larger bolt, but im not sure as to how to fit it through the head. maybe welding and re-taping is in order, or even a new block. You can get bare blocks for short money depending on what you are looking for, and its a good excuse for a build up.

Helicoils may not be the best way to go...if they go in there is the slight possibility they'll come out. As the others said check with a machine shop...dont forget about the huge heat that builds up in a block when the engine is running. You may get away with just tapping the thread to a different guage and buying custom made head bolts
