Can i still use this block?
ok so im building an ls vtec and i was done with everything last thing i had to do was tourque everything down and drop it in but in the process of tourqing down the head studs i found that 1 of them was striped out, so i take my block to one of the local shops and today i called to see if they re-taped the hole yet, it turns out that they cant do it cause the hole it too far down in the block then he told me that hes had this problem before with another customer but they drilled and taped the hole and out in a chevy head bolt and i told him NO thats not what i wanna do i mean i didnt spend 150$ on head studs just to not use them.
ok now to the questions,
has anyone ever came across this problem?
How did you deal with it?
Any ideas on fixing it?
the last thing i wanna do is buy another block! but i am going to call honda and see what they can do.

time serts are the way to go.....only downside is the kit for honda's is pretty expensive.........you can probably buy another bare bottom end for less than what the kit is gonna cost you.
good luck.
good luck.
