V8 BAIT

In a nutshell here's my prob:

When Golden Eagle sleeved my block they overheated it when pressing in my #1 sleeve thus annealing the aluminum and causing both head bolts on that end to strip out. SO, I had a machinist friend heli-coil both that were stripped and proceeded to get ARP's to prevent the problem again and the heli-coil itself pulled out of the block completely jacking the area in the block where the threads are.

Can a machine shop do anything with it now that is f***ed pretty bad? I have too much money in my block to just kiss it goodbye!!!

One thing you might want to consider, but will be alot more work, is re tapping all the head stud holes to fit a bigger head stud. You might also have to bore out the holes in the head for the studs depending on the size you decide to use..

a friend of mine got 1/2" nascar arp studs when his headstuds stripped out. go to http://www.timesert.com they have a kit for a b-series for $300+shipping for a b-series and about $90 for a d-series kit

If a time-sert were to ever strip or fail in any way, would the block be beyond repair at that point?

To answer why I know Golden Eagle caused the problem:

Talking to several machinists it was determined that the weakened threads had to have been due to overheating of the metal... Not only did they both strip at less than 25 lb. ft. of torque, but they were both on the end of the same cylinder.

if its golden eagles fault call them email them and talk to them, they are a "reputable" company they SHOULD be able to sort it out for you

Yes, a helicoil will not work in this case. , you could mill, retap, and use a custom head bolt/stud - nut. Any way its gonna be pricy
