URGENT****Need help real fast!
I'm trying to pull the motor out of my EG and i hit a brick wall just a while ago. The wheel lock is on the left side wheel and i dont have the key for it. I called a bunch of places and asked if they sell universal lock removers or if they sold keys but they dont. There were two options. 1. get a guy to come over to my house and do it for 70 bucks or 2. use a tow dolly to get the car to the shop and have them remove it.
The car doesn't move cuz I already drained and disconnected everything. Plus it spun a rod. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get past this. Is there any way I can get the axle out without taking the tire off of the left side?

i'd be willing to bet that this may work too, if you can get it over the wheel lock.

if you can get to the side of the lock with a punch and hit it with a mini sledge hammer you might be able to get it, it would take a few minutes to break it loose but it can be done.

Hmm.. I didn't quite understand. Are you suggesting that I hammer the wheel lock and try to break it to pieces?
LOL I'm not being sarcastic, if it can be done that way then i'll try it.

Is there a way of hammering a socket over the lock? If you don't mind replacing a stud, you can just drill out the stud and break the wheel lock off and then replace the stud.

It's hard to explain</TD></TR></TABLE>
Have you done this yourself on a wheel lock? It seems kinda hard to break loose a wheel lock with a punch when something is torqued to 80ft lbs. Especially if its a place where you don't have much room or leverage

i was just thinking the same thing with those craftsman stripped bolt removers, and how they would probably work. I would definently try that.

Hmm thanks for the help guys. I'm going to see if I can't just get the thing over to the nearest tire shop and have them remove it for 25 bux. Thankfully a friend is letting me borrow his dolly for a while so that's half the problem.
if you had access to a welder just weld a regular lock onto the lock lug and loosen it that way. i know it's hard to get a hold of a welder. unless you have one like me
Something really cheap an that I've heard of. Get metal bonding glue from Home Depot or something and put a ratchet head that fits (somewhat) on there and just torque it off.
