Just like the title says, I have a slight hesitation at partial throttle at about 3k rpm. I'm pretty sure this is when the secondaries open, right? It may be a problem with the butterflies or maybe that's just how the H22 is. Anybody else have this slight hesitation? This is on a jdm p13 ecu by the way and at >50% throttle, there is no hesitation, it just goes like a bat outta hell.
check for vaccum leak in the line that goes to your butterfly valve control thingy.
Also, maybe try cleaning your injectors?

butterflys are opened at 4600
have you thrown any check engine lights?
hesiutations are sometimes the hardest to get rid of.. try doing a tune up plugs wires rotor and cap , maybe even spark plug..
after that i would look at a possible knock sensor being intermitant

i had the same hesitation and like 3 miles later my CEL would come on. i pulled over and got code 23. check your knock sensor. i reset it and it still did it but no CEL. then it'd come on later. but then a few miles later my tbelt shredded.
good luck man!

I have no CELs (none anymore at least). I've got new spark plugs, new wires and a newish rotor and cap. Maybe it's the injectors. They may have accumulated some jdm goo when the motor was lying dormant in a warehouse for a few months or years, the thermostat certainly did. Otherwise, I may try a p28 that my brother or one of his friends has lying around, that way i can tell if it's the knock sensor b/c p28s don't have ks inputs. Thanks for the knock sensor idea.
I had a honda tech tell me that the automatic advance in the distributer with external coil goes out and it makes it do that. Mine does it havent had chance to change dis. yet but you never know.

mines had the same hesitation at 2800 rpm but what i do is ignor it. or just get pissed off and just plant my car to the floor every gear till i cool down...
ive tried everything changed my plugs, leads, cap, cleaned out injectors.trotle boddy, everything so ive given up unless some one find the fault. plz tell me

what!? that guy is retarted ! the ignition advance is calculated by the ecu based off of many parameters : engine rpm , throttle posistion , manifold presure , engine temp .. so many things go into account
ignition is compleltely controled by the ecu, the basics of spark distribution are in the distributor

since this is the 1 gajillionth post about hesitation, i'm going to be a nice guy and search for you! (if you already hadn't)

I read through all of those and none of them accurately describe my problem. Let me clarify, this is barely a problem but definately piques my interest in traffic at partial throttle when you're slowly accelerating then the car does a little studder step then keeps going like nothing happened. Could be the beginning of the infamous h22 knock sensor problem but I dunno. I'll try a p28 if i can find one lying around. If not, I'll just deal with it till it gets worse.
i used to have that exact problem and it got worse and turned into a big hesitation problem when i was in hot weather. i figured your problem would prolly get that way.

I was using some generic plug wires and was getting a hesitation. I replaced the wires with good ones and problem solved. I think with bad (cheap) wires the ECU gets EMI from the ignition and the timing gets messed up. Good wires suppress the EMI and the ECU gets clean signals from the sensors. Make sure the ground strap to the valve cover is attached too.
