Default JUST did compression test....Can I boost on these number, or should I rebuild ?

Hey guys..just did a compression test today on my 95 gs-r with 190,000 miles on it.

Results were: 195-195-195-190

How are these numbers, and can I throw boost on this engine or should I rebuild ?

Before people start hijacking this thread, let me just say this really quick ...DONT POST YOUR COMPRESSION TEST RESULTS, because I'm not asking about what you got. I'm just asking if my numbers are ok to boost, or if the numbers call for a rebuild ? For those who can reply to my questions, thanks alot

That's a lot of mileage to start boosting a gsr. With the high compression ratio you will not be able to boost it much before the rings give up.This would be a good time to lower the cr and get some fresh rings and bearings in there.

I haven't ever rebuilt the motor, the previous owner was super **** with taking care of the car, and I am super **** with it also (the only time I beat the car is on the weekends at the races. Daily driving, it never sees past 3500 rpm).
to virusidxx, I plan on running 8 lbs right now, but even at that boost level do you think its only a matter of time before the rings give out, or can I get buy with these numbers running 8 lbs ?

Hmm I've been redlining mine at least once a day probably for the past 100K miles. Mine is about to hit 190K also, still runs great. Those are great numbers, hope mine would register something like that.

Thats not good. Something is defintely wrong with your #4 cylinder. They should all wear out evenly.

For the original poster, lower the compression and boost it.

even on newer lesser mileage cars, the rings can still give out
