Default need help please car not running right cel 20 41 65

Yesterday, the CEL came on in the civic and the speedometer was in freak mode. It would jump randomly and also jump when the revs were up, almost like a tach. Most of the lights in the dash would flicker including the CEL light, but the car seemed to be runnning okay.
We pulled the codes and it threw codes 20 (which designates a faulty ELD) 41 (which is faulty O2 circuit) anf 65 (which also is the 02) .
I checked all the grounds from the tranny, and themostat, and valve cover since ppl in others threads had mentioned that this was their problem. its also popping alternator fuses.. checked the battery has good voltage. also checked the alternator is giving correct voltage.. will a bad o2 sensor cause this.. this is a 96 dx hatch. car is stumbling when i drive it. all these errors came on all at once.

need some help my only car for work

I had just about this exact same problem a few months ago only my CEL was already on so there was no change there. Check your battery and see if it will hold a charge. Do this w/someone you trust b/c I was told by Autozone the battery was fine and I needed a new alternator when in fact it was just the battery.... Check the battery first, if that is fine check the alternator... Good luck

check the alternator, I don't remember right no more but I think if diodes go bad you will get AC voltage flying all over your car which could cause that. I might be terribly wrong but I would recomend doing that.

This is a common problem with 96-98 hatches - I even think there is a recall for fixing it.

Basically you have a short that was caused by an inadeqaute wiring restraint system. Get under your car, look up and to the right on the back side of the block - you should see a plug that has NO matching plug connected to it - just a cap convering it (I think it might be blue, don't hold me to that though). Its usually the wires that go into this plug that rub against the intake manifold bracket and cause this exact problem.
