My 99-00 Si Cluster MPH reads a bit off in my 96 Civic, please help
well, the mph was working fine when i had my stock cx cluster, but when i swapped it out for an Si cluster, the mph seems to be 10 mph off. it would be 0, but when i hit about 20mph, the cluster reads 30 mph.
also, when i come to a complete stop, the mph needle is a bit laggy and even though i am stopped, it still continues to fall.
o yeah, and when i turn the ignition on, the mph jumps to about 1 mph even though im not moving
please help

Did u check all your connections on your cluster? Just go back and check them first....then check your VSS for loose or bad connection....then check the VSS for the proper Ohms (I think its Ohms) of resistance and see if its outside of its service limits...I am not sure of the specs on the Vehicle Speed Sensor but that is something i would check. From personal experience I would check on all the grounds. For credibility sake I am a diesel mechanic in the army....I troubleshoot bullshit all day long.

the calibration for the speedo and tach is different for the si cluster and the cx, dx, ex cluster. so it is going to be off.

No, there shouldn't be a calibration problem between models. 20 MPH in a CX is going to read 20 MPH on the Si speedo. Maybe the previous owner took off the speedo needle to turn the odometer and didn't calibrate it.

Yeah, I'm guessing the previous owner of the Si cluster had the needle off. And once that happens, it's hard to make it read properly afterwards.
