Default Is it ok to mount my fuel pump here?

Here are two different areas where I was thinking of mounting my pump and filter. The first picture is of them in the car next to the fuel cell. The second picture is under the rear axle. Any reason why there would be any problems running it in car(with the pump being higher than the sump?) or above the rear axle? Thanks for the help. Is it legal in any type of racing to run the pump and filter in the car?

Best to mount it lower than the cell as much as possible.

OFF TOPIC: Who makes that fuel cell and is it NHRA legal to use inside the drivers compartment?

I would also mount the pump and filter below the tank. You wouldnt want fuel sloshing around in the tank and cause the engine to not get fuel.

it is a jegs 15 gallon cell. It is legal if it has a bulkhead. I am just going to put in my back seats for the time being as another mk2 gti did that and everything was fine. And about fuel sloshing around in the tank, the cell does have foam, so it will be at a minimal

even with the foam, the sump will be uncovered at some point during street driving with just a couple gallons in the cell. its the same setup i am running in my 16vt street vw and the SX pump is loud. just for the sake of noise restraint, as well as not starving the pump, put it outside the car. the backseat will help suppress the noise from the pump also. my pump is mounted on the rear frame rail right behind the rear pass. side shock if you look at from the side of the car.

Damn Chris, youre on every board haha. I wouldnt mout it in the trunk, that's just asking for problems, plus like mentioned you want it lower than the cell. I put a pic on the vortex with a little description of where my pump is mounted. Check it out.
