Default What size piping do I need?

Still in the proccess of buying all my ****.

Since I have no previous experience with turbo setups, I need to know what size piping I need for my setup.

I will be running a stock d16z6 with a t25 and a "new style" 6" JRSC. Do i need to go with the 2.5" piping or will 2.25" be okay? I know my friend ran 2.5" on his 400 whp 99 gst so I'm assuming 2.25 will be okay for around 200 whp

2.25 or 2.5 will work for you. Doesn't really matter.

I/C piping kits are very overpriced, and most times you have to trim and cut a little to get it to fit your application anyways. I would buy some mandrel bends from kteller or jcwhitney, make your own piping, and save $100+

It's not hard at all and saves you a bunch of money because piping kits usually do not fit too well anyways.

you could probably do 2" to the intercooler and the 2.25" to the throttle body if 200ish whp is your goal

less pipe to fill = less lag

Differences are VERY minimal

I got mine from JCWhitney. I got 4 2.5" Ubends and cut them as need with a sawzall. After marking them and labeling I went to the muffler shop and for $35 they welded them all together Here are some pics:

I would recommend doing 2" to the IC and 2.5" to the TB. Doing the 2.5" will not change any boost characteristics significantly and has the benefit of reducing turbulence entering the TB and exiting the IC since they are matched inside diameters (within a few mm anyway). Also no need to upgrade the cold side if you go big later.

go full 2.5", not only will it work better if you wanna build your motor it will help the resale value or your piping if you every wanna sell it.

i will probably doing 2.25 all the way around. i went to jcwhitney.com but couldn't find any piping? i guess i didn't look good enough. can someone just throw up a link. i'd really appreciate it.

and since we're on this note...what size downpipe should i be using with the t25. 2.5"? 3"? who makes some quality downpipes besides Spoolin Perf.? I would think they go around for like $100-150...is that about right?

bump this **** up
