car smokes on deceleration........??? what can it be?
on idle very little smoke.......
rev it on neutral...still very litttle smoke
regular driving out of boost it doesnt smoke(car still hasnt hit boost) but when i stop at a light or let off the gas it puffs a huge cloud of smoke.....bluish/white(oil)
setup is an lsvtec new pistons/rings...new valve seals new valve job...new sc61 turbo with toyosupr manifold.....im guessing those are the 3 things it can be...its a new build with 200 miles......any advice?????
i thought it was a crimped oil return but its perfect and the feed is a -4 with a greddy oil filter sandwich

Blown turbo seals will do this when you deccelerate. I've seen it a LOT on turbo cars, stock or moddified, when they do it on deceleartion only the seals have usually gone

On my first turbo set-up my oil feed line was too big, and my car smoked like that. I ordered a new one from Stan and have never had the problem again
It also could have too much oil in it < - - - - Just a thought

My buddy had that with his Edelbrock turbo kit. Worked on the oil drain line for a while and finally just sent the turbo back. Garrett inspected it and found the oil seals were bad in the turbo and he got a new turbo.

new seals.....new valve job...pistons/rings/...head gasket..........all new even the sc61 is new......oil return is at a 45 degree angle...and a -10 unrestricted.....no crimps...
the feed is like i said a -4 that comes into the turbo at a 90 degree........i might downgrade to a -3 and see what happens...i hope its that pray 4 me....lol!

That's not good. I have a very light smoke while decelerating. The "s" shaped return probably isn't helping those turbo seals though

I'm thinking it's the turbo also Damian.. isn't that the one you said you borrowed from Yuyu that you thought might be bad anyways?
my old 50 trim t3 tended to smoke on decel even with a -3an feed. So I made a restrictor out of an 1/8"NPT alen head plug that I tapped into the bottom of my feed fitting on the turbo. worked great.

How much more help do you need. Your question has been answered. Inpspect your oil return line, fix it if it looks somewhat kinked, then tell us if it's still doing it. Would you like one of us to come to your house and adjust your return line??

Your rings may not even be seated yet. I'd wait a little while longer and see if it goes away. Does is smoke worse when your in boost?
