Default Installing new rod bearings. Crank question?

I'm building my block and I'm installing new rods and bearings, but keeping the OEM crankshaft. Does the crank need machineing to mate the new bearings?

You should have the journals micropolished and make sure everything is within spec still.

Anyone have price on getting the crank micropolished? My engine right now is perfectly fine. Only has about 60k on it, and it still runs. I'm just rebuilding the block for boost applications. Although I'm keeping the stock crank *maybe* and keeping the stock sleeves. I am just installing the rods with eagles and the pistons with arias.

you shouldnt have to micropolish the crank-- have crank journals measured to make sure they are within the right sizes--- order some ACLs from camp1320--- throw them in-- plastigauge everything a few times-- make sure you are good--- and thats it-- i did it and put 228 to the ground on pump gas

Getting the crank micro polished is around $25-35.

remember that micropolishing will change your bearing clearances a little

u should have the cranked remachined and balance, it actually dosent cost that much and you'll be happy with the outcome.

honda does an excellent job with balancing their cranks-- most of them may be off by a few grams or so-- i wouldnt touch the journals, i would have it balanced for sure-- i balance all cranks when building motors
