Default Garrett t3/60-1 .82ar too big for b16?

Is it too big? Motor will be b16 fully built with the following mods

Eagle rods
wiseco 9:1 81.5mm pistons
Equal length turbo manifold(neukin, crfab)
38mm tial wastegate
Alaniz competition head with RM valvesprings and retainers
Jg edelbrock manifold with 64mm tb
800cc injectors tuned with uberdata
3inch DP and straight n1 style exhaust

I really dont mind the lag. But how much are we talking about here? I just want massive top end thrust. Somewhat of a "slingshot" effect We will also be boosting aroung 1bar and aiming for 350-400hp. possible?

Thats what i wanted to hear But ill be using 81.5 pistons instead of 84.5 which I believe you used before. How much will it make of a difference regarding spool time?

Mind sharing us your set up? Im deciding between the precision sc61 or the Garrett t3/60-1.. Its a $200 difference and that is pretty big thing. Is it worth it?

If you guys have any inputs or suggestions regarding my build, please feel free!

well my setup with the 60-1 was 10.0:1 pistons, eagle rods, darton sleeved block 84.5mm, dpr stage 5 head with oversized valves and retainers, inline pro manifold, b16 extrude honed intake manifold, hondata.. I had a lot of problems with exhaust and such, n thats why my numbers seem pritty low... still..

To be honest with ya you would be better off with a sc61 because its slightly more efficient sence the wheels in it are a better match-up than the ol 60-1.

as far as pricing goes I would look around a little more and you should be able to find a sc in the $600's...

I really don't think you need someting that big for 350-400whp. A GT32E will hit full boost before that 60-1, probally 1000rpm's faster, and it will still make 400whp easily. It's rated to 560hp.
Or a GT30R.
Both turbos are better suited for your motor. Or your goals actually. .

Sure. I will..

The 60-1 is relatively old techonology. Its a decent turbo that makes good power, but lacks the techonology and efficiency of the SC61 or say a GT30R.

Its a balancing act. How much can you afford it the question..

true true..the sc61 is thus far a better turbo. Cant argue with that.

But then again, full race uses these turbos on some of their kits and a lot of people had great success with them.

Budget is a constraint and someone is offering me a good deal on the 60-1. But if the sc61 does make a world of a difference, then i could wait.

what you guys think?
