Default Goin nuts here, need opinions on power gains

Just lookin for peoples opinions on what to do to my 98 Civic HB. I know its up to me but for people who have driven or know about these power gains Id like opinions.

I will have $2000 roughly at the end of Jan and I am looking at forced induction or a swap. I have swapped a d16y8 in and have h/i/e right know.

Im looking at a Greddy kit with fmi/bov, JRSC or a b20 swap. Unfortanetly Ive only had a greddy kit in the past to experience and wasnt to happy on the lag (take off).
Im in a town thats got stop an go traffic so I thought take off power would be nice. Opinions, ideas please!

i would look into piecing together a custom kit that way you get the turbo setup you want for a nice price. if your thrifty enough you could probably sell the d16y8 and be able to get a ls or b20 swap with a custom kit.

I had a custom 14b set up on my last y8 but it needed tuning and I dont have the cash to tune and theres really no one near by I would trust. Also I couldnt keep the ac and parts where used, etc. Just to many issues. As far as the greddy I was thinkin $1400 on a new 92-95 kit and $200 on a 30x6x2 fmi off ebay (got some additional piping in the garage) and $160 on a type s bov. If I went turbo that would be he set up. If I went b20 would prob just throw in some cams and a fpr, maybe vtec down the road.

just swap and call it a day! haha DOHC-POWA!

hhah

Sorry not much help but depends on how much "BUILDING" motor experience you have. If very lil then either turbo it or swap it. Its cool to BUILD it up but why if u dont know how and will spend more money on it???

D16 TURBO!!! especially since you said you're on a budget. Just spend the left over cash for dyno time. Sohc-T's can put out solid numbers even if theyre aren't built. BBKA put out like 216 whp with 200 something tq (i forgot the exact number) on a stock z6 at 10 psi i think?

VTC put out about 165 whp at 5 psi on his y8.https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1062155

heres a d16a6 putting out 192 whp at 6 psi https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=754258

Its all in the tuning.
