Boost the d16, you will have alot of fun with it, and the greddy kit will work well with the stock motor, unless you want to upgrade later, then make urself a custom kit, capable of more power.

I use to have a greddy turbo kit with a HKS SSQ BOV on my d16y8 last year, and i loved it! if your the kind of guy that wants to make your stock d-series faster but not really hardcore in going through the motor swap process, then d series turbo is the way to go...its the only way to make real power on a d-series and its alot of fun...the best advice i can give you since your around my age is to make sure you save up your money until you are certain you can afford the kit and all the other necessary parts to run it right the first time...and also have some money left over so your not completely broke after you purchase...because i made this mistake and ended up blowing my motor

Hmmm lets see
B18c1 Swap is around 3,500...depending on what Car you have you can run between high 14's to low 14's stock...

With the same amount you can run a custom turbo setup on your d and run 13's..Heck even 12's..Look at Beerbongkicksass setup..Stock D series motor with a turbo and he runs mid 12's

Also, if youre concerned with not just straight line performance the D series motor and tranny is quite a bit liighter. Better turn in, overall lighter weight, better weight distribution...all good things for going fast

it depends on how much power you want. 200-220whp is quite fun. But you wil want more later.

It'll start feeling like it's slow after you get use to the power...lol..
but yet again I am addicted to boost... always craving for more boost...

Definately... you have to figure in the cost of all the extra stuff that you are going to have to spend money on...

I had to replace my clutch within a few weeks of putting my turbo on because of the power, then a few months later I did a head gasket.... who knows whats next!

Definatly boost the D. I just got installing mine a weekend ago and I dotn regret it yet. I think especially for steet driven daily driver a d sereis will meet all your goals. For 3,500 bucks you could have a nice setup.

Also read up and make sure you know what problems people have with d series (heads lifting and the small rods). Other than those two they seem to be great!

You can spend the same amount of money on a custom kit and get better power. Just reasearch and look around for good deals. Both are everywhere . SOHC people are good people to help you out too.

I have 2 honda civics that are turbo'd with d series. One with a d16y7/z6 combo, and the other is a straight y8. Both are fun as hell to drive and reliable. My hatch I tool to 14psi at the drags last time on accident, still running strong.
