I have a D15B7, Is there any hope in this engine? Turbo maybe? I want to know if i could really use this engine

 

http://www.d-seriesturboninja.com If your plan'n on boost'n it, ask them. There are several options that you can do if you would like to keep the D15B7. I for one am a SOHC fan. If you wanna run N/A you could put a D16z6 head on there with a bigger cam, new vavles, springs, retainers, cam gear, etc...Uh Skunk 2 makes intake manifolds for D-series, header, catback exhaust, intake, upgrade the ignition and fuel systems. Now-a-days you can pretty much do what you want to with them, all D-series are interchangable(to an extent) and there are starting to be more and more aftermarket parts avaliable for them, its just all what you wanna do.

And lastly.....Then there is that all important B-series that you could just save up and not spend your money upgrade'n ur D-series and put one of them in there, but really it basically ammounts to, do you want to have a DOHC or do you want a SOHC...Its really ur choice.

 

Jackson Supercharger works for that model.

 

You could turbo charge it for less than $1,000 including semi-standalone fuel management via uberdata.

how many miles you have on it??? heres a kit i made when i still had the B7 in my car. was pretty fun to drive.

 

yea seriously throw a D16z6 Vtec head on that bad boy and boost it, with the right simple bolt-ons and some tunning, youll smoke a stock GSR...If you have the boost up high enough... I have this motor, rebuilt it, put an AEM B series short ram, Neuspeed 4-2-1 two piece headers(lost 4 hp by using DCsports!) these are cheap and they are dyno tested on this motor by me for more gain, a high flow ebay cat, and a full Apex-i N1 exhaust system on it and put 113hp/109ftlbs of torque to the wheels.. pretty stout for a tiny motor and not a whole lot done to it..next like these guys suggested I'm going for the mini-me swap.

The head you have now flows better than the Z6 head. Find a CRX/Civic Si cam from '89-'91 and swap it in. Then turbo it. It will be easier to tune one fuel and timing map instead of two for VTEC.

 

for the cost of properly doing a mini-me he could well be on his way to having it boosted, and since he is considering sticking with the B7 i am assuming he is kinda strapped for cash as opposed to keeping the B7 as novelty.

 

Build your own turbo, you won't regret it. Under a grand will be a hell of a lot better then screwing around with simple bolt ons.

 

How would one go about turbo'n a D15b7? I have been thinking about doing this, but havnt been shure about exactly what all I need(supplys) and how much that everything will cost. What all would I need to run like 5-7 psi?

I also have an automatic(now dont say, drop a manual in there, because thats easier said that done) I dont want to mess with the tranny unless there is no other way and if thats the case, then I just wont turbo-charge it. I would just also like to know if there is anything that I need to do to the transmission as well?

 

Quick cheap hp nitrous biggest bang for your buck. I ran a 14.9 and put down 124hp 120tq to the wheels with this setup and that was with it cutting out at top end. d15b7 with bolt ons on the bottle

Also as some have stated mini me is nice if you are trying to stick all motor, slow and spendy way to do things but works well to give you a few extra ponys.(thought about this setup have a y8 head and a p28 in the basement)
