get the whole valvetrain done if possible. also get a cam gear to go with it that way u wouldnt have to go back and replace your cam old cam gear with a new one. also just to make sure, check your timing belt and if u can replace it. with a bigger cam ur putting more stress on the lifters and springs. hope this helps

before cam..
1. exhaust
2. header
3. intake

depending on money
1. port polish head
2. 3 or 5 angle valvejob
3. aftermarket or y8 intake manifold
4. bigger throttle body and portmatch IM
5. higher compression pistons

depending on which cam
1. upgrade complete valvetrain

good cams for d16z6
1. zex 59300 (street/strip)
2. skunk2 cam

good cam gears
1. skunk2
2. aem

optional
1. get a vafc to set vtec/fuel/air/etc
2. chip your p28 depending on different programs
3. hondata
4. get it tuned FOR SURE

lots of variables

you might also consider the mileage of the engine. I had a D16Z6 and at 120,000 miles, I installed a Zex/CompCams performance camshaft. Ever since then, the engine burned oil through the valve guides because the valve stems were already worn for stock lift, then when they were lifted further, they tore the valve guides up and it never did seal right...

Make sure your head is in very good shape before changing a cam. Huge clouds of smoke followed my car wherever I went thanks to that camshaft. Black crap all over the back of my car.
