Default Type R Cam in SOHC

Ok I have done a search and I got nothing. I was told that I could put a Type R Cam in my motor. Is this true, and what can I expect to get out of it. Because I don't want to buy a stage one cam because I was told I would have to port and polish my head for it and I don't what to mess with my timing alot, I don't what to put too much more money it too this motor cuz I want to swap it out but I want to get a little bit more out of it to. If any one could help it would be great.

its a little... impossible. sohc and dohc don't mix at all. think about it. dohc cam only controls intake or exhaust, sohc cam controls both intake and exhaust.

it wont work buddy.... if you take a look at a single cam's design... you'll notice that it has lobes for intake and exahust all on one stick like crazy.....hence SINGLE CAM

the ITR's have intake cam and exhaust cam's hence DUAL cams... get it ? DOHC SOHC?

LOL, n00b fights at it's finest.

And, an ITR cam will not go into a SOHC. Who ever told you it will work is a tool.

'nuff said.

well you CAN fit it in your motor somewhere,
like,
maybe,
in the oilpan.
but there is no way you will be running better with that setup....

No it won't fit and here is the reason why.

These are DOHC cams.

This is a SOHC cam.

The SOHC cam has to handle both the intake and exhaust. If you put a DOHC cam in your SOHC well, 1 it won't fit and 2, if you manage to make it fit, the car will not run.
