BMW Valvetronic!?! SCC Article for this month.
Did anyone read it!?! They are going to be removing the Trottle bodies from BMW's. Apparently the valves/cams are so adjustable that it opens valves to the peddle pressure instead of the butterfly in the trottle body!?! Um, can you say Kiss me rear smog!?!
plus BMW isn't far away from putting a non-mechanical valvetrain into production... variable valvetrain compliments of solenoids... yum!
With all the extra rocker arms and extra weight, i highly doubt that design will ever rev pass 6000rpm. prodution engines at least. Plus that hydraulic lifter is a big no with high rpms. i could be wrong.
I don't know, but at the same time BMW is only releasing it in the 7 series for now and you know those engines don't need to go over 6K to produce power.
