Default My dashboard lights take have a delay coming on, how do I fix this?

So, here's the problem:

Recently, about the past 3 weeks or so as it's been colder, I've been noticing that when I turn on my headlights or parking lights, they turn on immediately, but my dashboard lights for the speedo and tachometer and such take some time to come on. It seems like it is anywhere from 2-10 seconds of a delay.

Is there a relay that needs replacing? Or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, this is on a 1992 Civic Hatchback VX. Thanks.

wow, that is an odd one. are all the bulbs illuminated? you may want to double check the connections on the back of the guage cluster. good luck.

Rodney- Yes, once it illuminates, all of the bulbs are illuminated fine. There are no missing spots, or any other notable flaws.

Dantastic- When you bypassed the dimmer, what exactly did you do?

Anybody else with a theory as to what us causing this?

There are 3 wires going into the switch:
1) Solid Black
2) Black With Red Stripe
3) I-foget-the-color

Dissconnect the dimmer switch, then jump wires #1 and #3 together with a piece of wire or a paper clip. Your cluster and dash light will be permenately at full brightness. I used a piece of wire and some electrical tape. My dimmer switch was completely dead so my dash lighting did not work at all.
