Double check all of your fuses. If none of them are blown i would begin to suspect the headlight switch. You need to figure out where you are losing power.

That problem exactly happened to me just last night, whenever I turn on the headlights, they work but running lights and speedometer light stopped working, I'm just assuming its my fuse, but I haven't checked. Will do tommorow. Also turning on my headlights also made my fuel/temp gauge dim like 70%, but now my dash light is no longer working, it no longer does that. Yay?

Might want to have your alternator tested....

check your fuse box (the one inside), not necessarily the fuses but the connectors. meaning unplug and plug them back in and see if theres a short somewhere. mine was/is like that and to fix it i had to tape down (secure) one of the connectors so it wouldnt come loose due to vibrations. i guess you could replace the connector if you really wanted.
my lude had your exact same problem. good luck

Do you have an aftermarket radio? Could be the dimmer/power wire inside of it. That was my cause, fixed it right away.
