Default Problem with lights

I just got a 92 civic si and for some reason when I turn the headlights on the park lights turn off and the lights for the dash also go out, Is this someone else has had a problem with?? Quick fix? I looked at fuses but didn't see any blown, so i'm stumped for now.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The weird thing is if just the parking lights are on the dash lights work and the parking lights, hell even the dimmer works when just the parking lights are on, it's just when the headlights are on dash lights and parking lights are scared to show

unplug your light bulbs, then try turning them on. See if your parking lights dim still.

Ill have to try that, it came with some damn projector headlights on it. That might be part of the problem, as in they wired them wrong.

Any other suggestions just in case none of the above work?

Headlights, aftermarket harness and relays. Dimmerswith, transistor 3.99 at radioshack. Could have something to do with the comboswitch also.

Well no luck, last night I unpluged the headlights, no luck there. Swapped out the dimmer switch with another one I had, and then switched back to some stock headlights but still no luck. Any other ideas?

All fuses looked good. Even weirder is if i'm on the park lights and hit the brights they(the park lights) stay on, but once i switch it to the headlight setting the park lights turn off. I'm not sure what it could be, i'm gonna order a light console switch and see if that might be it.

yea, its your dimmer switch, I had the same problem. I got a switch from a junk yard, and everything worked fine afterwards.

Hmm i must have two bad dimmer switches then because i swapped them out and it still didn't work, well the combination switch will be here later today so ill put the new one of those in and see where i'm at. I guess i might just have to buy another dimmer

Got it figured out, thanks for all the help. It ended up being a bad combination switch.
