If the crank is damaged, it might not be able to be repaired. The machine shop I dropped my block off at said they haven't had too much luck fixing honda cranks. Is the bearing journal damaged at all, or what? Did the rod bearing spin? If the bearings never touched, then the crank is fine. If the bearing spun, but the crank looks ok, have a machine shop check it out to make sure it's in round and all that fun stuff.

Take it to a reputable machine shop.. let them check it for straightness.. Possibly could be warped... but unlikely.

If it's really not scratched, I'd run it. Make sure there's no little burrs or anything. Run your finger all around every journal.

exactly. you won't know until they check it..if you decide to simply run it you might end up further in the hole money wise...

Thats why my ITR block is getting looked through and honed. Destroyed rod bearing on cylinder 1, crank looks fine, just a little burr. But the blowby on the piston made me want to make this motor brand new.
