Default wastegate not clearing hood, help

alright this is a d16, have an SFP log manifold, and tial 38mm wg, when i close my hood the thing that screws on the top of the wastegate hits my hood, it is a CF hood so im thinking will cutting it be the only option? or would i be able to have a pipe welded to my flange and run to my wg and mount it sideways?

Cutting would be your only option if you want to keep it on top of the manifold. (what chassis is this?) Otherwise, your idea of an extension would work too.

How much space do you think you'll need? You can try the "washer" trick and raise the rear of the hood a 1/2 inch and hopefully clear the wastegate up front? Worth a try given your circumstance.

This is a very common problem
You need a 90deg. elbow, revhard kits come with one or you can find one here used for like 35-40$ Ya, I know its outrageously priced

Like Si2die4 said. Get the elbow. I think importparts.com actually has them for like 35 bucks new. Not sure. Contact ben at importparts. He is a good guy
