Yea its supposed to be a drop in...but then again all of them are i think. But they rarely just drop in. Most of the time the need a little persuasion with a file and a hammer. I dont use them because im afraid ill warp a cylinder or something....but ive put them in for people before. Ive seen both of them and i honestly dont see a big difference between the two.

Whats this going on...and whats the rest of the setup?

block posting( i'm not for it) is when you bore holes on the outer part of your block into the water jacket and tap the holes to make threads. you buy threaded plugs made out the same material as your engine block and screw the posts or plugs into the holes you had drilled to reinforce the outsides of your sleeves. home made turbo has a write up on their main page. http://www.homemadeturbo.com

that seems to be a really bad idea. thanks, I'll do some more research on it

If you are going todo a block guard spend the extra money. Have a machine shop weld the block guard in. Is this going to be a stock piston/rod setup or aftermarket forged piston/rod setup?

Make sure to hone after you install the block guard. I am going the same route, block guard but with forged pistons and rods. I don't invision myself running anything more than 15 psi or 300-350 whp, so I wouldn't be seeing any of the "benefits" of sleeving my block. It all comes down to what your goals are.

O yeah, back you your question, I am going with the Race engineering blockguard. I guess its just personal preference but i like their style of bg's better than ge's.

It's been working great for me. Just be careful and take your time.

I've got about 5000 miles on the block now. No probs.

Larry of endyn (not that i know him personally) does this block posting, and I'm not going to call any of his engine building practices bad.

See: his daily driven supercharged d16 putting down ~500(?) hp.
