Default eacv problem...

hey everyone first off i did do a search (didnt find what i needed) im tryin to fix my idle and ive found the steps on how to do that. so the proplem is when the car is running i pull the plug and instead of the idle droppin the car shuts off anyone know why?? the motor is dohc zc and when i pull the plug the idle is at about 1250rpm

I wonder if your TPS is working. Check the voltage on the TPS at open throttle. it should be about 4.5 volts.

thanks but could it be anything else? i dont have a volt meter so is there anything else that it might be? something else that i can try to fix first, untill i borrow a volt meter from a friend

When you first turn your car on where is the idle? It should be around 1500 rpms. That is with the fast idle valve on. If it is not there then you should turn the idle screw so you idle goes to 1500 rpms. Let the car warm-up then unplug the eacv. It should stay on. If it does then set the idle.

Also, check your hoses for correct hook and leaks especially the ones on the map sensor.

when i first start the car it does idle around 1500rpm, but for the most part the idle goes up and down i did the the hoses (replaceds some) but like i said when i unplug the eacv the car dies out???

Good, at least the vacuum hoses are not the problem. Now, try and set the idle to 1000 rpm with eacv plug in. next, pull the plug. It should go to 600 to 700 rpms. If it stays cranked, then adust the idle down to 550 rpm. You should be all set.
