Default 93 civic ex problem.

First off this is a friends car but ive worked on hondas before so im pretty familiar with them, the prop them is the seedometer isnt working. I made a quick glace at 12am with a flash light and didnt see anything un hooked. But yeah its a 93 ex. She just bought it and it has some mods done to it. I think a new motor was put in it, it said D16 and them some numbers i forgot. What came in these stock? Back to the speedometer question, what should i check? Dont hate on my fr being a V8 guy lol well thanks for any help!

Make sure that your getting continuity to the VSS, if you're not then check the wiring before replacing the sensor.

Check the Vehicle Speed Sensor.

Also, a 1993 Civic EX comes with a D16Z6 motor, stock.

its probably the vss, the motor that she probably had swapped if it says d16 something 8 is most likely a D16Y8 SOHC VTEC from a 96-00 civic ex
