Default 80W bulb

I know 80W bulbs will melt your wiring harness and I have heard that some higher wattage bulbs will melt your housing. Well anyway I saw this wiring harness http://store.racinglab.com/heavdutwirha2.html
and am wondering if I put one of those in my car can I go with the 80Watt headlight bulbs or will it melt the housing or will those wires also still melt from them?

I have 80W bulbs...I should've saved the money. They'll be alright for awhile (I'm going on 3 months.) But I should've saved for a retrofit. The bulbs won't satisfy you long IMO, plus the risk of wire damage. I would have rather stayed stock.

POINT: Get proper wattage bulbs until you do a proper upgrade (sylvania, HID, whatever.)

For the money you'll spend on a wiring harness and the bulbs you're better off just saving for a HID kit. I just got one for my car and I previously had some higher wattage bulbs. I can't begin to tell you the difference.

I have some awesome 55watt low beam bulbs now andd 65 watt high beams which are stock and they arnt the Silverstars but the look about the same and put off just as much light if not more. I love them when I have the high beams on and the low beams are find I just would like the low beams to look like the high beams. I don't want the HID's because they cost an arm and a leg and I have heard people starting to have problems with the ballasts going bad and the bulbs going out after about 1 year and the a lot of people I know that have them say they give them a headache if you drive more than an hour or so with them and they say they like the regular bulbs better. I know the 80W blue bulbs suck and are worse than mine but I do like the color so I was wondering if the 80W ones that wernt blue if I could find any would look like the bright lights when they were on for the low beams.

I think people should read more on the stats of the bulbs.

I am running Xeon Plas. 80W 9006 and 100W 9005

No wire issues and no melt downs at all. Nice supper white light as if it was HID.
And I have been running them for about 6mths now and still going. The ones in my other halfs (and I hate to say this MFG here) Olds. are going on 8mths and no problems. Oh and the bulbs are PIAA True Plas. Xeon not the cheap copies.

The W is pending on the source. Most of these cheaper aftermarket ones are really only 55w 9006 claim to be 80w and then there is the 65w 9005 but they say they are 100w. Most people get fooled by the difference in the white from the PUK yellow.

The only other way to get NICE WHITE LIGHT is to get a whole front clip (wheels adn all) from a 2005 Honda
