Would I need a Wideband 02 to tune my car with uberdata?
Just as the topic says, wanting to know whats the cheaper route.. v/afc hack, fmu, or ubderdata/hondata and such, so far uberdata is not too expensive at all only for the fact that i might need a wideband o2 sensor.. is it 100% necessary to have it? thanks in advance H-T genuises.
windband isn't any more nec. than with fmu, or afc hack... But you shouldn't drive a car that hasn't been tuned no matter what you use to add fuel to it. People blow up cars because they cut corners with tuning. I bet more than half of the turbo hondas blow due to lean condition. I bought a wideband so I can keep an eye on it. But you could just take your car into the dyno when your done and check it that way. But personally i would rather have the option to keep an eye on it all the time.

I could have had my turbo installed and tuned 2 months ago, and I have been working on putting the kit together for over a year. But I decided to wait so that I could get the wideband o2 inorder to keep and eye on a/f.

This is the exactly why I bought my wideband before any of my turbo parts. That way I won't be tempted to boost my car on a untuned map.

Ive had ran Uberdata's basemap on my GSR for 1-2 months.. And no problem, only the fact that it had 10-13 MPG on gas. lol...
Was stupid for me to run it untuned, yet the motor held fine... 200 compression all across....! after few months...
Then finally, i bought myself wideband not to long ago... Boy was I NUTS!!
Heres what my wideband read on avg:
IDLE: 11:1 <---VERY DAMN RICH for IDLE!!
when in boost..: *(3,500rpm - 8,100rpm) It ranged from 12:1 AFR to 13.5:1 AFR! O_O LOTS OF POWER! yet... 13.5AFR was pretty damn lean.. if u ask me.. around 8000 rpm. =P
All and all, get a wideband!
or get it tuned~ It will save you money on gas / headaches / blown motor, in the long run .... Trust me... You will lose more on paying for gas... So do it right the first time.

It's not absolutelty necessary, AT FIRST. You can run a good UD base map and do a little street tuning to make sure you get your car running smoothly. THEN, when you have enough money get tuned with a wb02 or buy your own. That's if you're really stressed for $$$. If you think about it though, a wb02 is a lot cheaper than having to rebuild a blown engine.

definately a good way to do it. you might be able to make a rich *** basemap with the uberdata, and drive the car around on really low boost settings for a lil while until you can get to a dyno or a wideband, but i wouldnt push it much
