Anyone know tranny codes? The seller says its from a D16y8 98 ex coupe..It says K4F on it and S40-1202410 I'll try to get some pics up. Thanks in advance...

That is not a EX tranny that is a DX tranny. The Ex tranny will say S20 on it. the EX has a closer gear ratio. the DX has longer gears. theres your answer

First off, NOBODY is correct yet!!!!!!!!!!!!

The little sticker tells you NOTHING about the tranny gearing, only what generation it is.

L3 = 88-91
S20 = 92-95
S40 = 96-00

To TRUELY know if you have a small bearing case or a large bearing case, you must find the casting numbers near the oil fill plug.

96-00
P4A-A000 = small bearing case = DX/HX/LX etc.
P4A-B000 = large bearing case = EX
