Default EX or DX tranny question....

wuts the number thing right next to the bar code on the tranny S??? wuts the code for and ex and a dx???

*i searched found this*

The little sticker tells you NOTHING about the tranny gearing, only what generation it is.
L3 = 88-91
S20 = 92-95
S40 = 96-00

To TRUELY know if you have a small bearing case or a large bearing case, you must find the casting numbers near the oil fill plug.

96-00
P4A-A000 = small bearing case = DX/HX/LX etc.
P4A-B000 = large bearing case = EX

also to add my Y8 tranny has K4F stamped on the top of it ..
