Surprisingly (very surprisingly) all my rear suspension bolts spun right out. Slathered them up with anti-seize, slapped them back in, and put my new bolts away for a rainy day. The fronts we did without removing the fork bolt since it's seized on the driver side. All we did was separate the ball joint and use a pry-bar to pry the arm down and pull the damper from the fork. Super easy.
Because, I didn't need to replace my bushings, I didn't. They're still pretty bad but, I'll keep that job on the back burner.
As far as the springs/struts go, I still need to play with my ride height. I don't think I'm level and I may have too much pre-load on the springs, too. The car settles fast but there's a decent amount of initial bounce.
Keep us (more like me) posted on how you like the Progress coilovers. I will be pulling the trigger on them some time or other. I've got a few other things I'd like to get squared away before I let the mod-bug take hold!

Today I stuck more double sided on my bra fender pieces, ordered some tein street basis z coilovers, and shared a pic late of taillights. 😁 Got some clear fog lights to put in still, I'll be back with more pics.

The dampers are great. I wish I hadn't gone with the 350/250 spring rates, though (checked my receipt). They're pretty stiff.

Yeah. Did I set mine up wrong or something?
I followed the instructions.
Set the collars to give the springs an 1/8" of free play. Then gave each of them 8 turns. Installed them. Drove the car. Measured heights. Adjusted ride height a little. I tried raising the car by raising the collars. Did that **** it up?

Also, all of my bushings need to be replaced so, it's not fair for me to point at the coilovers and blame them for a harsh ride. Pretty sure the Progress CSIIs are regarded as a decent budget/entry level system.

Today, I drove my J-swapped EK to a shop to have some A/C hoses configured. Some pieces needed to be ordered, so that’ll be a few days until that gets fixed. The new A/C compressor has yet to be installed.

Found a brand new Stanley headlight at the pick-n-pull. $27. Unfortunately, I broke two of the tabs on it removing it. One was due to ignorance. The other was because the bolt was seized and the fender tuna canned as I tried to undo it. :/
Clearly I need to make a few more "adjustments." It wasn't so obvious with the old busted up headlight.

Polished the other headlight while I was at it.
What is the deal with Stanley? Are they OEM? Aftermarket?

Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
Timing issue! I totally rebuilt 93 del sol engine .020 bore standard crank std cam. D15 b7 engine. Could not get the timing marks to line up. Started with the crank at tdc. Marks line up with the arrow on plastic belt cover. Used the single line on the pulley not the three lines about 1 inch to the left of tdc. The two lines on cam pulley should line up with top of head, and line facing down should line up with mark on plastic cover. I have read multiple instructions on how to set up the timing on this engine. The marks on cam gear either fall below the top of head or above. About half way either way. (One half a tooth off) if that makes any sense. If the mark on cam gear (left mark looking at it) is above the top of head it will run but no power. If the left mark is positioned below the top of head it runs better but can not get timing to line up when using timing light. Not enough adjustment in the slots on distrubuter. I tried to time the old jdm engine with the same results. I can't figure out why on two different engines the timing marks won't line up. I have rebuilt many engines in the past and never run into this problem. I tried to get this right at least 10 times now. I know these marks should line up. HELP!

Removing dash to get to cabin harness to be replaced with one from an EX, why? So I won't have to deal with electrical issues regarding the secondary o2 sensor.

Swapped out the radio, cassette player and cup holders. Thought my cassette player didn't work turns out it was unplugged, and cup holder was messed when I got the car. Waiting for some time to put the coilovers I got on but got snowed on this past weekend. 👎

Sweet! Now you can rock all those cassettes you had sitting around...
