My pops has ~40 years of paint and collision repair experience. Yes, they're specific to collision repair. The clamps are so cool. The clamp eyelet is attached to a wedge that's positioned behind the bolt holds the clamp together. As you pull on the eyelet, the wedge increases the clamping pressure of the jaws. So simple. So cool. Less than 50 lbs of force on the end of the pipe pulled all the damage out and hammering the pinch points relieved all the residual stresses.
If I were writing a post mortem on how/why your post was seemingly ignored I think it'd go like this:

Anyone can replace a hood prop clip LOL. A lot of them are broken too.

Welp...as the offender, my apologies!

I'll be sure to be a little more fair with my replies in the future, and be sure consider level of effort before replying

That being said, I too noticed the tool with the eyelet and wondered if they were collision repair tools- figured they must have been. Cool that you've learned some of the techniques and have access to the tools presumably from your father. Looks good man!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This 100%!

No way would I ever attempt collision repair because of my lack of knowledge.

Installed the new strut bar. Front rotors and pads are up next. I have to get the rotors re-drilled to 4x100 first though.

Got a few things done in the last week or so:
  • Removed A/C components (it was already missing a line so I said to hell with it)
  • Removed P/S pump (bad pump and I don't need power steering that bad)
  • Looped P/S line at the reservoir
  • Changed oil
  • Changed transmission oil
  • Replaced battery terminals
  • Replaced alternator belt and bottom bolt that was missing (old belt was almost shredded)

Things coming up this next weekend:
  • Replacing clutch, flywheel and rear main seal

Most AC and PS stuff removed.

No one likes dead weight, so remove the whole interior, radio, control panels too. Get it done

I think my driver-side rear strut finally blew... I'm hearing some noise coming from that corner, car isn't as stable, and it's wet at the base of the shock.

This is going to suuuuuuuck. This is going to be one of those "while I'm in there" types of jobs. I already have a Hard Race bushing kit and Progress CSII spring/strut combos sitting in my basement. Since all of my suspension bolts will be seized to the inner races of the bushing, I might as well get the Hard Race bushings installed (while I'm in there). Which means, I might as well drop the whole RTAs and replace the soft brake lines (while I'm in there). And, since I couldn't replace my drum cylinders the last time I did my brakes and, since I'll have the lines apart, I might as well replace those (while I'm in there). And, I don't want the rear end sitting lower than the front so I'll have to do the fronts. Fingers crossed I don't break a captured nut in the engine cradle loose. But, let's be honest. It's me. I should probably have a panel cutter and welder nearby. Fingers crossed.

I'm so jealous of CX-Wife's 2018 EX.

In this last work week: With a coworkers help and his timing light, set the timing.

And after getting home from work, reset the drivers side door window. Again. It was out of the front and the rear track. There seems to be no position that the bolt can be placed where the window is happy to go, all the way, up or down. And it's not like I lower it more than an inch or two, 99% of the time.

I think all 90's Honda owner's can relate. I'm going through this same process on my car right now. The to-do list just keeps growing...

Well I picked up some cheapo Enkei wheels to replace the studded snow tires that came on my 99EX -- advertised as 16s found out they're 17s DOH! So got those on the car they're rubbing in the rear I'm going to have to fix that but much better. Haven't gone for a ride yet. Gotta finish putting in the seats, definitely need something larger than what it came with -- I'm a big dude and it came with cheapo Ebay Seats in the trunk... making things work for now.

^^ This times five thousand...

The most we ever did was a chain around a tree to the frame part needing some "readjusting" on the beater, then backed up hard to pull out the bumper frame.

No where near the class of work or the quality of tools at your disposal. That was some sweet display there!

Looking good! We had people hitting up the business page all day asking if we were gonna make it, but we're too busy with shipping orders. Not a bad problem to have.
