B series and D series trannies are completely opposite of one another. The B series of course is larger.

a civic si 92-95 came with a z6 in it so therefore they are both one in the same transmission

The 92-95 Si came with a Z6...

Any 92-00 D series trans will bolt onto and work with any 92-00 D series engine.

ANY.

The only difference between the 92-95 EX and Si trans (both come with z6es) is that the EX has a slightly higher 5th gear.

The shortest gear D series trans is pairing up the internals from a D16 DOHC from a 1st gen integra to the internals from a 92-95 Si, IIRC.

Check the stamp in the transmission case. A000 Designates a small bearing case (CX/DX/LX/VX) and B000 designates a big bearing case (EX/Si/JDM D15B Vtec) The only caveat is that I believe the HX coupes also used a big bearing case. Below are pics of the identifying stamps.

A000 Small bearing case.

B000 Big bearing case.
