IIRC, the thermo opens fully @ 195 F. 220 seems pretty hot to me. I want to say my car, with Integra radiator, never sees 200 even when racing nose to tail. This is with a HC4 build on the motor running a oil cooler.

With the old Fluidyne Civic radiator (1/2 width), even with a block off plate on the a/c side, it ran close to 220.

my fans turn on at 210ish i believe, might be around 220. i see 220 when i'm driving hard and stop, but it doesnt stay up there for long. driving hard it's around 200ish, maybe a little less. if they're supposed to come on 195, i have a problem then, lol. need to check the service manual i guess

edit - just checked my haynes, it does say the thermostat opens at 195, so 220 may be too hot

you need to check to make sure your gauges are correct, maybe replace the fan temperature sensor, and if you have hondata, check the settings to make sure the temperature is set where you want it.

When I had my D16Z6 I used a Mishimoto Integra radiator and dual fans on a dedicated switch.
Even on the hottest days on track would it ever get past 210.

Thanks.. I see now.. I just got the bluetooth datalogger installed, and it's showing that my temperature sensor reading -27' it's been like that all these years omg.. engine check not showing.. just replaced the temp sensor and everything works flawlessly

Nice.. That's a great idea to use a dedicated switch!
