Default American Motorsports LSD

I searched for info on these LSDs but didn't find any. Has anybody tried these yet? They are significantly cheaper then the Quaife but look a lot better then the OBX ones out there. What do you guys think?

No real info on where it is manufactured or to what level of precision. Some of the english is not well written on the site (Q&A page). Could be a decent alternative to the OBX though....
I'll still keep my lifetime warranted Quaife

I have had several discussions with the manager of AMC over the last few weeks. I'm expecting to have a good look at one of these Diffs next week.
Alex from AMC Swears that these are NOT OBX... ? So I'm looking forward to getting some more in deph information.
I have been thinking about putting a package deal together for Racers, using a good quality LSD combined with our GEAR-X Final Drives. I'm particularly interested in providing an affordable deal for the '88-'91 CRX/Civic H4 Racers as we are the only company over the last 4 or 5 years that has gone out of it's way to provide Final Drives for the early Cable Clutch transmissions.

I'll keep everyone posted.

same as OBX, just a different box.

Pictured is a B series LSD.

Same plant, different name on the box.

Just like the connecting rods.

Welcome to big business. Company I worked at for 14 years, same product yet was sold under 22 different brands across the USA.

I'm inclined to agree... I have made several calls to AMC and set up meetings which have not happened.... Every time I have asked the question " Is this the same product as OBX ?" The answer has always been a definite NO.
I am always prepared to give anyone the benifit of the doubt... And I had hoped that this just might be a different product.
I should also add that I am looking at purchasing a decent quantity of these things, I'm not just a "one of " buyer that might justify being continualy fobbed off!
AMC 's continued avoidance of a meeting and alowing me to check this thing out thorougly, has prety much convinced me that Mista Bone's comments are probably absolutely correct.
I'm still hopefull that I will make some progress and have some definite answers this week.

Kiwi, AMC may just be stating what they are being told by their supplier.

AMC: Are these the same as OBX?
China Supplier: NO!

So AMC only stating what they are being told.

Think about the lead paint issue lately on toys.

Well a full week has come and gone...
After several AMC promised, but never kept meetings. I'm convinced that the AMC LSD's are nothing more than OBX in a different Box, and at a higher price! Mista Bone is right!
Rather disapointing that a company offering a "New Product" is so evasive when faced with a buyer ...(Me) Who was willing to buy a sizable quantity of these things to add to our GEAR-X Range of Final Drives. All I wanted was a few straight answers... Personally I don't care who makes the product, all I want to do is check out the quality myself and get some technical details. Obviously this is NOT what AMC wants?
So it looks like OBX is still about the cheapest alternative...
Sorry I could not give you guys some better news.

Personally I think we'll stick with Quaife, Cusco and KAAZ
Nobody ever regretted paying for quality.

one benifit to this LSD might be better support from the company selling it.... who knows though. .

i thought as soon as i saw it "wow, that looks exactly like the OBX lsd"...and pulled up a picture of the OBX and that one, and they appear to be identical

I had inquired about this several months ago. Their ebay advertisement at that time was a joke, full of misspellings. I think it was clear they didn't have any R&D behind it, or even really knew what they were talking about.

The ebay link is no longer there, but we quoted some of the inconsistencies from the listing back then.
