Painting Chrome?
Wanting to get the lips of my wheels painted and was wondering what would be involved in preping them to be painted since they are chrome.

first thing first, if you don't know the different about chrome vs polished then you will have a hard time understanding this:
for chrome you just "rough" up the surface to give the primer a good mechanical sticks
for polished aluminum, you need to get the clear coat off before spraying on top of it. you will not find a bare aluminum part on wheel, bare aluminum tarnish with the contact of air and most of the polish aluminum rims(oem LS mesh for example) has a clearcoat on top to protect it. if you spray stuff on top of clearcoat, it will not stick properly
