Any of you using E85 ???
I was wondering if anybody out in the NW is running E85 ?? and how has avaliblity been getting it ....it looks pretty sparse out there , I have been wanting to retune my car on it this winter before I move , but I am giving second thoughts on using E85 .....any sugestions
I have been running E85 in my CRX for about 3 years, if your at the point were you need race gas going E85 can save you lots of money on fuel. In the portland area I'm lucky there are a few places to get it without going very far.
I use E85 regularly as well, and I have plenty of friends who also use it in daily driven cars. Like stated before, it can be worth the small inconvenience of going to get it, if you're making enough power to need it. Fortunately I live about 2 minutes away from an station that sells E85, so I may be a bit biased.
Well am currently getting restationed in Coos Bay OR. , and it looks like it is imposible to buy out there ....as for the car I think it would make a lot more if it was on E85 , I am making 518 whp and 346 ftbs on 93 oct currently but I think I could make a whole lot more if I change the cams and bump the rev limit up a little more along with the E85 , the SC6262 I am running seems to thrive on high pressure ratios that E85 would allow me to run ....but I am really tempted to just tune a E85 map on the EMS under the NOS map and add a togle switch to switch back and fourth to change maps depending on the fuel ....But I am about readdy to give up on the idea and just throw in a water meth kit and tune it with that and give up on the E85 idea .....I guess I will see when i get out there.

I bought a spare factory tank and built a sump on it and I have a set RC 1600cc injectors , just have not bought fuel line and fittings yet , and I was goingot run 2 external Walbros , they should be able to handle it ...possibly a set of O44 bosch pumps ....the car is pretty much out of fuel right now on pump gas ....the single walbro has done good though , it has a larger cable powering it , not the factory wires , they switch a relay that is powering the pump straight from the hatch mounted battery , so there is not current loss ...it should be able to get the car near 600whp on race gas but thats it ....and I think that E85 and bigger fuel system is the next step .

If you do Dual walbro's make sure you do them in parallel, that way you get the most out of them... ive seen 700+ on dual parallel walbros on E98...
Ive got dual walbros (1 intake and 1 inline) but in series with factory lines up to the fuel filter then ive got a -8 from there to the 2nd pump then to the fuel rail... im pretty much out of fuel with 1100's and stock base pressure @530whp, Tuner thinks there might be 50whp more on the injectors with a little more base but thats about it... 650whp with the 1680's will be feasible tho
The sump on my spare tank has 2 outlets ....I was going to Y them together after the pumps, I will look into those injectors , I am running the AEM EMS , so it should be easy to have tunned ....there are a few things I want to change still as well , differant cams , better plug wires formt the coils ....it is all a little upgrade
