ref??
BUMP!! I heard You can not place a h22 into a civic. The motor HAS to be available in that model somewhere in the world, the civic never came w/ a h22. You can however place it into an accord or Acura cl.
Does this mean you're stuck with a b16a2 as your only option for a swap if you have a civic???? That BLOWS!!!

well the law took affect on april 15. so that probably why they still sale jdm motors. but you would be able to ref it if it was the same yr. for example if my hatch was a 1995 and i put a jdm b16a it would be coo because its considered a replacement engine. but my hatc is a 1992 and they didnt have those motors back then. and as far as the integra being ref if that motor is it has to be the same yr. thats exactly what the ref told me. but if you put a us spec bottom block they will bring out the ref sticker and give it to you. he said it should only be like this for a couple of months because there has been outcry about it. if you guys have questions pm me and i can try to explain

This is odd...
I heard as long as the motor is of same year or newer, the motor was offered in that car, and it has all o2 sensors/smog control devices etc. plugged in, you should be okay?
Where can we read about these laws and who votes for them to be in place?
Maybe this is just a way to get people to just buy new cars instead of fixing the old ones.

you guys may have heard those things but these are all new laws. it pretty much come dopwn to the bottom block. if you have a us bottom block u can ref any motor in ur car pretty much beside b20 and ls vtec. but if you have a jdm motor it has to be a replacement motor only. so basically i could ref a jdm dx motor in my car but whats the point of that bs. so say if u have a jdm gsr u cant ref it. so u buy a us bottom block and voila state ref complete just more loopholes. i wen back there today and ref my boys car.
