Default eg retrofit question

All the eg retro fits ive seen people use the clear lense blacked out headlights. would it matter if i used the oem lights with glass fluted lenses? I realize it would effect everything coming out of the headlamp and is the main reason why others use the cheap aftermarket lights. but i hate the way the black retro headlamps look. any ideas?

the reason for using clear lenses is to provide a better, brighter light output. If you use your glass lenses, you're going to cut down on the light output, cause if you thinking about it, the bulbs have to shine through 2 glass lenses(projector lense and headlight lense) If you don't like the blacked out look, you could always paint them

The reason for using clear lens is because the stock glass lens is fluted thus it would distort the projector beam pattern. Black housing is generally used 1) to minimize any reflection of light off of the housing and thus reduce glare; 2) because it's aesthetically pleasing.
