I have a 1996 hx with a d16y5. I'm looking at doing a mini me build. I have been researching as much as I can but my question has not been able to be answered yet. Everyone says to take the y5 head off and put a y8 head on. But I also read that the y5 and y8 castings are the same. And if they are wouldn't that mean I just need to replace the vtec solenoid with one from a y8, and cam? Or am I wrong? I understand I still need to try and convert it to obd1 to make it tunable to add a turbo one day (future goals). Thank you for your assistance.
