D16Y8 head installation Question
Alright well I ran across a good deal on a Y8 head. I have a D15B7...i believe the guy told me it was a 93. Im wanting to put this head on there but having alot of people give me contradicting info on doing this. Some say the headbolts are to long and i need to shim it up with washers.... and the timing gears are like 2 teeth different so Im going to need an ajustable gear. Just things like that. Not gonna have a prob wiring up vtec Ive already did a mini me with a z6 head. Just wanna know what im getting my self into before I start this one. Also heard a 95 ex dist. will work not to sure though. If anyone could give me some info on this I would appreciate it... especially if youve already done it.

Re: D16Y8 head installation Question (1994hatch)
A y8 head is not from a 93, only 96+
Head bolts designed for a y8 are what you need
A 95 EX distributor will NOT bolt up to it, if it is in fact a Y8 head

well your whole problem is a y8 head is obd2 so you need to swap everything from a z6 head over and just get a z6 head it flows a lot better for the mini-me swap search for the mini-me and you will find all you need to do the swap, search is a good thing instead of wasting everyones time
