B18b1 swap issues
Well, I collected one mans trash to make it my treasure. Here's the deal, 97 civic dx 4dr with an installed and half way running 98 b18b1 that stalls a bit, runs super rich, rattles with erratic idle even after replacing the iac valve and the tos (tps is not in spec I did it the old find a good run and tighten it method for a to b purposes). Heres its current set up: HAD an eBay bullshit turbo setup on it but came in the trunk w the car. It currently half runs with an OBD2A to OBD1 eBay jumper for a p75 a01 out of a B20 CRV. The ecu has a base map on it right now for the turbo but I was told to go get it retuned for all motor. Aem e85 fuel pump (I'm assuming a 320 because dude kinda slapped parts on it to make it half way run). Factory injectors (I have the turbo fuel injectors in the glove box). The turbo kit is missing the bolts for the manifold to the turbo. Turbo is the 63 trim w t3 and 38mm wastegate w a 10psi spring. Ugh, lets just say it runs like **** with the cold air and bolt ons. Theres also the issue of the fpr gauge only reading 20psi even when I tinkered with the adjustment screw on the b&m fpr which both are mounted onto the aem fuel rail. I really need some pro opinions to get this thing back running properly weather it be as easy as getting the turbo back on it or an easy fix to put it back to all motor with what bolt ons are already present. Ah, its also running some brand of stage 2 all motor/ high boost cams. I'm assuming that would be crower brand. This is what I was told. Ive always wanted a bad *** civic and even made the move of trading this thing for a fully functioning scion xb. Yeah yeah. How dumb but hey, I saw something in the car that I wanted and power was its name. I hear these b18b set ups can take some serious abuse and I'm willing to make an effort to get this thing running right. But I really need a little guidance to know wtf I have on my hands. Because if turbo is the better answer then its sitting in the shed and begging me to bolt it back on. Keep it mind a few things are missing from the turbo kit. Bolts and gaskets, no downpipe, half the intercooler piping is gone, there seems to be no turbo timer or boost control. The bov looks...really shitty and cheap. The turbo spins but, isnt "clocked"...so much. Any input would ROCK.
