Default what are the sensor that wont let vtec work ?

what are the sensor that wont let vtec work ? I have a few sensors not working like the knock and iab iacv not working .. would that prevent from vtec to work

well, vtec is ran by oil pressure. if the motor doesnt have enough oil pressure, or the vtec solenoid or vtec oil pressure sensor isnt working then vtec wont engage. those are the first three places i would check. if the vtec solenoid is acting up or not operating the ecu should throw a code. iacv definitely wont effect it (idle air control valve). the idle air control valve simply helps the motor rpm's stay consistent at idle. the knock sensor is there to sense vibrations within the motor, so i dont think it would keep vtec from engaging, but not 100% sure there.

well it stands to reason that vtec will never work when its not even hooked up....
and the vss will also stop vtec engagement even if the vtec solenoid and switch are hooked up.
