What to do w/ 94 Civic DX automatic.
aside from burn it or sell it.
So, I have a 94 Civic DX 2dr automatic with 56K original miles. It's completely stock, down to the steelies (silver, cause painted black steelies is retarded).
I'm thinking, if I toss in a B18C1 in it, find an automatic tranny, i'd have a moderately fast sleeper. I wouldn't lower it, i'd keep the same stock steelies on it. Problem is, it's my daily driver.
Here's what I want and don't want (from the civic, i know i could solve this all by buying a 2002 Maxima or WRX):
Want-
Moderately quick sleeper
Automatic
Reliability (as reliable as the D15 in the car now)
Don't Want-
louder intake/exhaust note
harsher ride
worse handling
external indication of swap performed
I'm looking for nothing outrageous, low 15s, to high 14s with the automatic. No boost, no internal engine mods. I've thought about the CRVtec, but, i've heard reliability issues with that, as well as the LS-VTEC. I'd also like to keep the total cost of the swap UNDER $5K.
Any ideas?

Re: What to do w/ 94 Civic DX automatic. (Driven)
I can help you out with this one. You can get both a b16a and b18c1 in automatic versions from japan. I am curently finishing up my auto trans 2nd gen b16a swap in my 95 dx coupe right now. The engine, trans (with intemediate shaft) and ecu cost me $1900.00 shipped form hondamotorsonline.com. All you need is the axels and a rear tranny mount from a teg. Hope this helps.
