Specific swap. B18C1 into stock 94 Civic DX.
I've been doing a lot of research on the ol' B18C(1) swap in the 92-95 Civics. I damn well like what i've been seeing and a friend of mine's been giviin me resources and good info. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and technologically inclined, so I definatley want to do it myself. Heres what I got!
94 Civic DX Sedan
Allllllllll Stock.
and I don't like it, but it's got potential, and I like modding my ish.
(for better or worse hahaha, don't ask about my ps2...)
What I want to do
-B18C1 Swap w/VTEC
-With AUTO or MAN Tranny, (which is better and how?)
-An EX Conversion (do whole kits exist? or do i have to do windows, locks, alarm, trunk, etc. piece by piece??)
I don't have an RPM Meter, but I think I can fashion/buy an external one easily.
-Tint windows. -piece o cake, i know a guy next to my work.
-a Modest (almost stock looking) Spoiler. (BUT I my paint is fine. so I don't want something ridiculous that will require me to do a body kit or repaint anything cuz thats' expensive).
-Make rear doors open a full 90 degrees? (I have a ampeg 6x10 bass cab that barely fits in the back seat, but having more clearance from the doors would make it a breeze to transport. it doesn't fit in the trunk or seat down btw.)
-Dual Halo Projector Headlights
-Some sick JDM Taillights
-I dont want """"RIMS"""" Just some sick looking aluminum wheels. not huge ones either.
-I will not lower the frame -it bottoms out enough as it is... grr.
-Some repair guy did a shitty job on the front bumper and right rear fender, any suggestions? I also want to remove the stripes from the sides since they are fading in places.
-make doors close quieter. >thump<
Check out pics below... <3 Photoshop
The Front End now
AFTER?
Rear End NOW
AFTER?
Yeah.

Do yourself a favor. Save your money on cosmetics. stick it in your engine. APC doesn't need anymore business.

maybe you should know your **** and realize his 4door is just as light as an si hatch or ex coupe
onto the main subject, the swap will bolt right in from any 94 up integra, if your car is 5 speed , if its auto, ditch the car or forget about swapping it
ps. forget about the headlights and taillights, who cares about how the headlights look when your in a ditch because the lighting is so shitty from them that you cant see the road

Way to show your knowledge, moron . At least two of the sedan EGs are lighter from the factory than my Si hatchback.
As for the post starter, if you like those headlamps and tail lights, you do what you gotta do to enjoy your car every time you pull it out of your garage, man. It's not our car, it's yours. 98% of us dislike those kinds of lights (those aren't JDM...in fact, there aren't any JDM specific tail lights that I can think of for our cars save stockers minus reflectors), but meh.
All B18C1 swaps are VTEC: all you do is run a wire.

yes all b18c1 are vtec..
liek some1 said if u got a auto sell it and get a manual car to start with and u'll save urself a lot of headaches during the swap..
if urs is manual then fine get teh manual swap ofcourse...
why? because it's always faster than its auto counter parts..and the rest u have to drive a stick as opposed to an autno to know...it's jus what driving is all about..
good luck though..

Re: (james4o8)
The car was in an accident a couple years ago, and the guys repairing it put in some used headlights... and theyre way dim. That's mainly why I want to change them. Does anyone else have these? """dual halo projector (JDM?) """"
I saw better tail lights, but they sold. dagnabbit.

1) yes b18c1 is vtec
2) manual is so much better, if you have an auto you can change it over when you do the swap, its actually not that much harder. My car used to be auto and now its 5spd and no one can tell.
3) No such thing as ex conversion, you'll have to do it piece by piece.
4) Yes you can use an ex cluster in your dx, so you can have an rpm gauge.
5) tint
6) no spoiler, but if you have to get one, get an oem one.
7) Don't do the rear door conversion.
8) As for the headlights, tailights, and rims, its up to you, most people on here don't like them, but if you like it, thats all that matters.
hope that helps

dual halo projectors are not jdm lights...
if u want to get nice looking lights and u want jdm then check passwordjdm.com they'll probably have something..
personally i would just go with oem headlights...
because later on if u want to use HID then those projectors that u want to get won;t help...u'll have to retrofit projectors and u can do that to the oem headlights...
either way do what suits u..check ebay ..there r millions of headlights on there also...
again as many people said..it's ur car..personalize it anyways u see fit..u will never please everyone..so just stick to urself..
