Default Type R head on gsr block?

any down falls to using this setup? i have the head and ecu, will i need anything else ? i will be keeping the gsr pistons cause i have a turbo kit to throw on

Beside that it is next to impossible to find. I recomend that you get a B16 head (same casting) and throw a set of type R cams in there. You will save MEGA $$ doing it that way.


Edit... You allready have the head?! slap that bad boy on there!

Only other downfall would be compression lowering to around 9.8:1 cr. Check out the thread that's been going on this week about the same subject: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=505787

damn i have been to that site a million times and never saw that page , that is a nice piece of info

but thx for all the info guys but i am gonna go with K.I.S.S on this one the R head needed valves and seats done so i am swapping it with a friend for a complete gsr head with dist and all to make life easier so mod u can lock this or keep it open for people interested in this kinda swap thx
