Default turbo type r hatch

i got a 92 CX with a 00 USDM type r swap, and i would like to go turbo, but my question is will it be worth it, or will this lead to problems....also what would i have to change in order to run more than the recommended boost, (6 or 7 lbs of boost?)...thanx

First off... mad props for the swap bro, Secondly.... your car should already be fast enough, and thirdly.....I wouldn't recomend it unless your trully a baller and can afford it but I would suggest getting the jdm headers and an exhaust and some jun cams would do real nice................once again mad props on the car man!

Run whatever you engine can handle. I'd go boost if you want power. All you need is decent parts a standalone ECU (Hondata or AEM) and a great tuner. Whatever he can get you is what you should run. Every engine is different so your goal should be running as much boost as possible without blowing the motor.

I went N/A.....it was a waste of time (Esp. after I popped the motor anyway). Goodluck. I'll let you know how mine goes when I get the rest of my parts.

I say you go Turbo. If ur like me your car is never fast enough so u will want to go faster as often as ur wallet allows you to. My friend has a 99 type R and he is running 9lbs of boost on an fmax kit and the car rips pretty good i think fastest was 12.80 stock internals so in ur hatch u should rip low 12s ur allot lighter Go with the turbo u will be happy

I thought you were getting rid of your car, and inorder to boost you could go with the ghetto gasket and get a thicker head gasket to drop compression so you dont have to take apart the bottom end and on 7psi your car with traction would be in the very low 12 sec passes no problem as long as you have the right tuning and kit. If you look around on here im sure you could get a drag III kit for 2800 or so and there are a few more things you will need with that like install and tuning but with both of those you would be unstopable

No need to lower compression unless you are trying to boost over 10-12lbs. Stock internals can handle up to 10lbs it just depends on tuning.
